Situated on Peckham High Street, a multicultural hub where many businesses rely on the local economy, the three storey host building is comprised of both commercial and residential units. When the private individual freeholder could not keep up with the rising property maintenance costs, this led to tensions with the leaseholders. Further disputes arose with the building's insurance company over responsibility for repairing long-standing roof leaks.
Working alongside the freeholder and leaseholders, Maximus agreed on a revenue split to facilitate a major restoration that saw the original fabric of the building refurbished and the roof fixed. The building has since been redecorated to a high standard without any one party having to fund the works.
Maximus were proud to have been involved with the charity 'Peckham Platform', a creative and educational charity based in Peckham, south London. Maximus donated space on our highly sought after Pride of Peckham banner and the charity invited a local artist to use the 72SQM canvas to showcase their artistic vision and interpretation of Peckham's energy and deep-rooted creativity, bringing together many elements of the local community.
